Genesee County High Point Trip Report
two small areas within 500 feet of the county line (1,030+ ft)
Date: September 3, 2001
Author: Bob Schwab
These two small areas are very close to the southern county line, and are easily combined with a visit to
neighboring Livingston County.
Leave US 23 at the Tyrone Center exit (Center Road). Go east 1 mile on Center Road and turn left (north)
on Hartland Road. Go north on Hartland for 3.6 miles to the county line, where the road angles northeast.
The two small areas are on either side of the road (State Road), just north of where it bends and enters the
town of Fenton. Park your car in the school parking lot which is visible to the east.
The southern HP area is in the lawn on the southeast side of the road, just north of where it bends.
The area to the north has been significantly altered by a housing development and the construction of a road,
which has now been blocked off. Cross the road (north) and find a remnant of this area along the eastern edge of
the "new" (blocked off) road. Climb the gentle bank to a woodsy area behind some houses (the dogs will bark).
