Lapeer County High Point Trip Report
Mount Christie, BM Thomas (1280+ ft)

This one is another easy HP to visit, and has a very nice view of the surrounding countryside.
Leave Michigan Route 24 on the Lapeer/Oakland County line and drive west on Davison Lake Road for just
over 1 mile. As you approach, you will see a prominent hill just to the north of the road with a gazebo and
large flagpole on top. Turn right (north) into Mt. Christie Estates and drive up the paved road which skirts
the hill to the east. Drive past the crest and find an access road to your left (west) which quickly swings
south and climbs up to a parking area just a few hundred feet from the top. I could not locate BM Thomas.
I assume it was disturbed when they built the gazebo.
The view is pretty good for eastern Michigan, and you can easily spot some of the highpoints in neighboring
Oakland and MaComb counties (Duffield Hill and Twombly Mountain). You can exit by continuing south
on this access road IF THE GATE IS OPEN at the bottom of the hill.
