Freeborn County High Point Trip Report
Date: December 26, 1997
Author: David Olson
I left Clear Lake IA in the late morning or about midday and headed north. I intended to conquer the HPs of
Faribault and Freeborn counties MN. These two HPs are near each other and only a short distance north of
the IA/MN border. The Faribault MN HP, the HP of the Kiester ridge, was a 1440+ feet high pasture.
Faribault county is a 'super-county', by Greg Slayden's definition.
The Freeborn county MN HP is maybe less than one mile to the east and less than 0.5 mile south of the
Faribault coHP, a 1400+ feet high soy-bean field near a farmhouse.
