Lake County High Point Trip Report

Stony Tower - BM Isabella (2,080+ ft)

From MN 61 at Illgen City go north 23.5 miles on MN 1 to a left turn onto FR 103, Stony Loop, just past the National Forest ranger station. The road is marked as "unsuitable for standard passenger car travel," but can be driven, with care, to the area of the high point. On FR 103, stay right at 1.8 miles, and reach a grassy path on the right at 2.3 miles, with room to park a car.

I followed this overgrown path less than 1/4 mile to high ground. I wandered around quite a bit, but did not find the BM witness posts seen by Bob Packard the year before.
