Jackson County Highpoint Trip Report

I followed John Mitchler's excellent directions, parking my car off of Horridge Road, just south of MO-150 about 5 miles east of US-71. Nobody appeared to be home at the nearest house to this hp so I proceeded.

I couldn't find where my wife had put my GPS and I also didn't have the topo I printed out, so I visited the 5 areas within the 1,100-foot contour that John suggested. I first went around the new Sprint tower to the south of the tower marked on the map, then covered the area east of the new tower in what looked like some sort of bean field. I then crossed the east-west fence line and covered the areas southeast, east, and around the older radio tower. I think this may be the hp of KCMO proper, assuming that the city limits reside in only Jackson county.
