Bolivar County High Point Trip Report

This area is along a road near the river. The hp is a flattened area with a picnic table. It should be easy to
just drive there and walk a few feet to the hp. Don't go our way. There must be a better way. We didn't
find it. If you must know our route, just for laughs, here it is. Don't try it in wet weather.
From US61 at Duncan, we drove west on 444 to MS1 and south 5 miles to a sign "Bunge - Hurricane Point."
We then drove west 3 miles to end of pavement, took a left fork and drove on west to a dead end at
a plant. Saw no access south from there. Returned to a road on a levee which was 0.2 mile west of the
junction at the end of pavement. Drove south on levee 1.1 miles to a road descending west just beyond a
"650" pole. Met a rancher in the field. He pointed out a way to drive on field roads, not shown on the topo,
to a point just east of the hp. A short walk through woods brought me to the hp.
Reminded me of the time I ran up Mt. Lemmon, 19 miles from the Visitors Center, only to find there was a
road on top.
