Claiborne County Highpoint Trip Report

three areas (440+ ft)

Date: April 13, 2004
Author: Bob Martin

These areas are near the south boundary of the county. From MS20 at the Lincoln-Jefferson county line, drive northwest on MS552 from Pleasant Hill to McBride. From McBride, drive north on McBride Road almost two miles to the county line. One area is along the county line west of the road, in trees.

For the other two areas, continue north less than a quarter mile to find a road left, posted, with an ancient locked cable. With permission, walk west past a junked car to find the remaining high area in a contour that has been split by gravel pit operations. Follow the road on west as it leads to the western high area, with the highest point very near the road.
