Leake County High Point Trip Report

Start at Carthage, MS. Go NE on Hwy. 25 about 7 mi. to the community of Renfroe (store on left),
continue another mile or so to the 2nd right turn after crossing the creek bridge. The turn will be gravel,
the here-unsigned Irwin Rd. Go 2.0 mi. to Coosa Rd., paved, and turn left. Now go 0.65 mi. and turn
right (S) onto an unsigned dirt logging road (gated, but unlocked, with active log trucks around when I
was there). Go 1.3 mi., taking all left forks to a final fork which has a rough tree-nailed sign "Big Hill Rd.".
I parked just up on the left fork, the hill easily bushwhacked within the fork of the roads. Good views
to the SW. Huntin' club land -- probably best avoided in hunting season.
