First ascent

Refer to the Lamar Co., MS trip report by Fred Dale to get to the Exxon station/store 0.25 mi. NW of the Lamar/Jefferson Davis Co. line on MS Hwy. 42. Turn off the hwy. S onto Hickory Grove Rd. Go 0.8 mi. to Dudley Rd. You're now in Marion Co. Turn right (W). Go 1.5 mi. to Black Creek Rd., and turn left (S). Proceed 1.5 mi. to Bethel Church Rd (currently unsigned), a "Y" intersection; turn right (NW). Curvaceously, go 3.1 mi. (observe a 4-way stop at 1.5 mi.) to Carterville Rd., and turn right (N). This hp can be Martinized up the road 0.4 mi. at the bilateral upright and blue-blazed PVC-pipe markers of a gas line crossing. The map-indicated house is no longer extant. Drag a foot and enjoy!
