We first tried exploring the ridge road that goes by Tepee Butte but it was slow and rocky, so we drove a new road (not on 7.5 map) to here.

From here we bushwhacked through the forest to the east-southeast. Once at 8,080 feet, we picked up ATV routes that lead to the summit. The Forest Service register has lots of entries from locals - I imagine at least half of them drive up.
