Phillips County Highpoint Trip Report
Date: June 27, 2006
Author: Adam Helman
This effort was part of a larger journey
collecting Idaho, Montana, and Washington county highpoints in late June and early July 2006.
About one-third or one-half mile after the junction noted by Jerry Brekhus
to be one mile from Zortman along Pony Gulch is yet another junction.
Bear right (west) at this junction, so taking the poorer road.
The left fork takes you on a road that climbs quickly,
yet soon ends with a locked gate, signed "No trespassing" for a mining concern.
The approach road, clear to the berm after 4.5 miles, is in terrible condition.
Expect at least 30 minutes to drive this distance one-way.
