Theodore Roosevelt National Park High Point Trip Report
Peck Hill - two points (2,860+ ft)

It was a great hike. Weather was nice for a stroll, with a cool overcast.
Started from closest pullout in park loop road, which is WNW of HP.
Road was being paved, with only north side of loop open.
Start of hike goes through prairie dog town, then passed old stone
structure which was entrance station years ago. Used buffalo trail to
climb 200' up mesa, and built cairn at HP. Pretty flat and grassy up there.
I visited both areas, but east one is hard to make out. On hike
out saw another rattler near the trail, and then a lone bull Buffalo.
I kept close to badland slopes while passing the Buffalo, figuring I could
scamper up faster than he could. Luckily he ignored me.
Only minus on the hike was the interstate traffic, which was visible
and audible to the south.
