Cleveland County High Point Trip Report

The day after we did Guilford co NC we did Benn Knob as about a 10 mile hike. The route we chose was entirely along a road, most of it paved, through a private (but not posted) community. The residents gain access by driving through the country club, but we left our car at a locked gate and hoofed it. The hike up from South Mtns. State Park is probably nicer, as the first half is on trails rather than roads, but it's both longer and has more elevation gain, so we opted for the easier route.
