Jones County Highpoint Trip Report

After breakfast at Yana’s in Swansboro (recommended) off we drove to the roof of
Jones county. Through Jacksonville (UGH), Richlands, and Hargetts Store we drove.
Eventually north up Potters Hill Road (1148) and at the county line take
a left onto the dirt road as displayed on topozone. The land is posted by the
Blount Woods Club but only for hunters and fishermen. I drove to the yellow
gate, parked and walked around amongst all the bullet riddled things. I found a
5-foot longleaf pine, surrounded by loblolly pines and proclaimed that this was
one of the HP's!
I then drove Potters Hill Road to Tate Road (1147) and parked at the county line,
looked for the highest patch of land along the county line at the garage and was
satisfied I was at the high spot of HP #2.
