Northampton County High Point Trip Report

I had no problem finding my way past the church on the topo map, and turned left to park at a locked
(unposted) gate on a gravel road. However, I decided to back up and off to the side to leave an opening for
the gate - and my 2WD pickup slid backward into a very deep ditch. I was lucky that a fellow in a car I had
seen in the neighboring church drove by a minute later. I flagged him down, and after he stopped chuckling,
went and got a friend with a 4WD and pulled me out. They refused any money, so I gave him $40 to put in
the plate on Sunday.
The HP after that was uneventful. I tramped about in the area of the coordinates (light pine forest) until I
was happy I visited all the little bumps. I then carefully backed up and headed further south.
