Polk County Highpoint Trip Report

I drove up Skyuka Mountain Road and spoke with a local who recommended I just drive out access road. He informed me this area was an old camp, Camp Skyuka. He suggested taking this road as it is level to near top. At an overlook I turned left, waved at some folks building a house, and drove to where the road becomes steeper and parked.

At the summit are towers and an old fire tower. Great views from the tower. Skyuka Mountain Drive changes names(near top?) to White Oak Mountain Road, this I drove down. As it is mostly paved I suggest this road be taken up. It intersects Houston Road, a mile east of intersection of Houston and Skyuka Road.
