Scotland County Highpoint Trip Report
Date: March 4, 2006
Author: Brian Bockhahn
This highpoint is in a nice quiet Longleaf Pine forest, sand track but hard packed.
South of Hoffman off US 1, go 0.4 mile past a water tower at a truck
yard and turn left (east) onto Laurel Hill Road (1603). Cross railroad tracks
and enter Scotland County where the road apparently becomes SR 1346.
At 0.3 mile you will come to a rise with a three or four way intersection.
Turn left and park.
The highpoint contour is around the intersection and corn fields. Topos show
some roads which are no longer there but further down that road is another
height of land that is marked with a 482 elevation on the map. It is not very
significant and does look any taller than the surrounding hills.
