Drive northbound on the Blue Ridge Parkway about 30 miles from Asheville to milepost 355.4.
Turn left onto NC 128 and drive about 5 miles to the end of the road at the parking area and
concession for the state park. Hike 0.2 mile on the paved walk to the summit. A small
museum is about halfway, and the summit has an observation tower and the grave of
Rev. Elisha Mitchell.
