Grant County High Point Trip Report

Park along Highway 2 at the Sheridan-Grant County line or just east of it where a ranch road goes south about 4 miles east of Ashby. Radio towers can be easily seen from the road looking north. This where you need to head.

Descend north to cross the RR tracks and climb toward the towers. I walked along a fence until close to the top and it was obvious that the HP is by a shorter antenna, although it was neat walking the area. A dirt road heads to the HP tower. BM Ashby is slightly lower than the HP and slightly south. There are also 2 triangulation points marked "Ashby 1" and "Ashby 2".

Statistics: Distance of 2.2 miles in 1 hour+ with 280 feet of elevation gain plus up and down to cross RR (no trains while I was there).
