southern approach
This effort was part of a larger journey
collecting New England county highpoints in October 2010.
With reference to Mike Schwartz's report, zero your odometer
at Exit-9 of Interstate-89. At 1.3 miles you indeed turn left (north) within Warner.
At 2.7 miles you pass-by on your right side an abandoned white structure and black barn
where I car-camped afterwards. I note this because there is no overnighting allowed
in Rollins State Park.
Bear right at 5.0 miles at a "Y"-junction. The left fork, not desired, is signed Gore Road.
At 6.3 miles stop at a toll booth and, as of 2010, pay a $4 entrance fee and then continue
to 9.7 miles at the trailhead. Park.
The highest boulder slab is either near a park bench at the trail's end; or at the
summit communication towers perhaps 50 feet south.
