Carson City High Point Trip Report

Snow Valley Peak (9,214 ft)

Date: September 15, 1997

We enjoyed a nice hike into 9,214' Snow Valley Peak, summit of Carson City. We took the Tahoe Rim Trail in from Spooner summit. This was the nicest hike on the trip, through forested terrain, but the trail winds about a bit more than needed. The summit was windy and chilly. We found a register there.

We decided to make the hike a loop, and came out on the North Canyon Road. Two motorized vehicles were spotted just north of Snow Valley Peak, do not think they were legal. On the hike out several mountain bikes and one horse party were coming in. Only saw two other hikers. Easiest way to do this one is take a bike part/all way in on North Canyon Road. It is gated at Spooner Lake.
