Humboldt County High Point Trip Report
Granite Peak (9,732 ft)
Date: September 19, 1997
Author: Andy Martin
Passenger cars will have difficulty getting over 8,000' on this one due to a
steep and rutted hill. We parked at 8,800' and hiked up the summit.
The top was a lot rockier than we expected, and hands are needed a time or two.
A nested tin can register was found near the bench mark. A small, red-stained
snow bank was just north of the saddle at 9,400'. This one might last through until winter.
