From just south of the body of Virginia City drive the Ophir Grade road, which starts in the NW corner of
Section 32 (near what I think was a road maintenance yard) and rises to the vicinity of a saddle just after
crossing the Section 1/2 line (BM 6661). Turn right here (there was what appeared to be a shortcut,
steeper, that we didn't take, shortly before the actual right turn); I think you'd want 4WD from here. Keep
right again where a track heads down toward Jumbo. Follow the main N/NE trending road (use the map,
but you're staying up at most junctions instead of dropping off the ridge/plateau) to just short of Ophir
Hill, and turn right toward the radio towers on the Mt. Davidson ridge. We parked at the tower, and
walked the last 1/2 mile, although an adventurous driver might have gone further. There was a rather
deep rut in the road about 1/2 mile before we parked; we almost decided to stop there.
