Washoe County High Point Trip Report
Mt Rose (10,776 ft)

As others have noted, the trailhead is just west of the highest saddle of highway 431 between Reno and
Incline Village. There is parking available for a few cars right at and across from the trailhead and a bigger
lot at the saddle. Also, there is a built-up parking area (with brick outhouses)
two-tenths of a mile farther west.
I did my hike on a cloudy, windy Tuesday morning and saw only five other hikers. The winds on the summit
ridge were enough to blow me off my feet on a couple of occasions. A summit register had been left by the
6th grade class of a local school.
I used the brick facilities in the parking area to change clothes at the end of my hike.
