See previous trip reports. We parked at the road intersection at spot elevation 1987 (see topo) and
bushwhacked most of the way, picking up the white-blazed Finger Lakes Trail (FLT) near the summit.
The bench mark was easy to find.
On the descent, we followed the FLT for a short distance as it was going southwest, the direction we wanted.
Then it turned sharply right (northeast) but a blue-blazed spur trail took off here to the southeast
and we followed this back to Valentine Hill Road. From here it was a road walk of about 0.7 mile back to
the car.
Future HPers would save a little time by going northwest on Valentine Hill Road that 0.7 mile from the
intersection at spot elevation 1987 to where there is a pullout and camping area on the left (southwest) side
of the road. Park here and see the blue-blazed trail begin in the woods opposite, on the northeast side.
From this point it would be a round trip hike of a little more than a half mile with about 130 feet of gain.
