Monroe County Highpoint Trip Report
on Ontario County line near southwest corner of county (1,040+ ft)
Date: April 18, 2004

Get off the Thruway at Exit 45 (I-490, eastern (Victor) exit). Bear right through and after tollbooth to get
on NY 96. Turn left to head south, towards Victor. Two miles down, turn right onto NY 251.
Follow this for 2.5 miles to Strong Road on left (last left before county line).
Follow Strong three miles to Parish Road. Turn right.
Turkey Run, the private road mentioned by Mike Schwartz, is on the left at the county line.
Follow this good dirt road a quarter-mile to where it forks. Bear left into Ontario County.
Follow this around past the path Mike mentioned to where it again curves southwards with a large,
cleared area on higher ground to the east.
You will find a nice and obvious grassy pullout that is a perfect place to park.
Get out and follow the path down to what looks like the T-junction clearing Mike describes, complete with
blue-tape blazes (intermittent, really). You will notice that past the near-side bump that Mike liked as the
highpoint it continues around the head of the ravine to another bump due south of the first one, which is
definitely higher and seems to better match the contours of the HP bump on the topo. The trail cuts a nice
groove through it; you can scramble up ten feet or so on both sides to be sure of being on the highest ground.
