New York County Highpoint Trip Report

Again, followed Mike Schwartz's excellent directions. About all I would add is that the tunnel is a left exit and there is a small sign reading "Battery Tunnel". Found a parking space in front of Bennet Park. Walked up, noted the marble plaque, hopped the short fence to stand on the rock, and got on my way. No second looks from the people walking their dogs. Kept going to Ft Tryon Park and followed previous directions to the lookout. Clearly manmade, but there is a nice view over to the Pallisades and up into the Bronx.
