Rockland County Highpoint Trip Report

This effort was part of a larger journey collecting New England county highpoints in May 2012.

Jackie Jones Mtn

The summit fire tower is fully 800 feet from the 300 foot tall microwave tower.

Rockhouse Mtn

There are two pullouts along the paved road on either side. The eastern pullout at (41.23389° N, 74.09191° W) is on the road's south side. The western pullout at (41.23398° N, 74.09226° W) is on the road's north side.

From each pullout a minor trail proceeds northwest (eastern pullout) or northeast (western pullout) to converge in roughly 100 feet. The combined trail then goes northwest and meets a more major trail at this junction with coordinates (41.23470° N, 74.09240° W) some 300 or 400 feet from either trailhead. Take this trail northeast.

The summit boulder is at (41.23885° N, 74.09189° W) some 0.15 mile west of the trail at its closest approach. Hence your bushwhack lasts at least 0.3 mile.
