I used Gary Fallesen's directions again. As Bob Packard reports, the new owner of the Harrisburg Lake
Club was very helpful. It was a fairly straightforward bushwhack, but there were waist to chest high ferns
along the way, this time mixed in with raspberry vines and hobblebush. This is not a good hike to do in
shorts! The actual summit seems to be concealed in a thick copse of white spruce. There are no views.
On the way back down I tried to find an easier route. Following an old jeep trail, I managed to get lost.
I think I went too far south. While it had only taken me ninety minutes to climb up the mountain, it was nearly
three hours getting back out. The sun set as I drove through endless construction delays in the New York Northway.
