two small areas - including spot elevation 1051 feet (1,050+ ft)
From the center of Oxford (intersection of Route 732 and US 27), drive northwest on US 27 for 2.1 miles to
Todd Road. Turn right on Todd Road and continue north for another 1.1 miles to a long driveway with
mailbox #6300 on your right (a wooded area begins on your left). Pull off and park in a field access at the
beginning of the drive. Hike west along the north edge of a large bean field (stay of the south side of the fence)
for 0.35 mile to the spot elevation site (1051 feet) near the corner of the field.
To visit the second area, cross the fence and hike northeast for about 0.3 mile across the northern bean field,
aiming toward three metal grain bins that are on the farm of Dwight Jones (#6527 Todd Road). An old
military training base is clearly visible to the north. The second area is a few hundred yards southwest of the
grain bins. I exited the field via Mr. Jones' driveway and walked back down the road to my van.
one area on Riggs Road (1,050+ ft)
From the center of Oxford (intersection of US 27 and Route 732), follow Route 732 south, then east for
3.35 miles on Brookville Road to the intersection with Riggs Road. Turn south on Riggs Road and proceed
0.35 miles to the 1050 foot contour which crosses the road near a brick house on the right (#4123).
While the contour extends out into the cornfield,
it appears that the highest spot is actually in the middle of the road,
just south of the driveway (a drive-over highpoint).
