Clark County High Point Trip Report

Roxanne Everett's report is accurate. Although this is an easy highpoint, I approached this one from the west where she approached from the north. On the route I took, there were no postings discouraging walking.

From Catawba, take Pleasant Street east, which merges into the Mechanicsburg-Catawba Road, then becomes the Knoxville Road. If approaching from the east, take Knoxville Road from state route 56. Turn south onto Pleasant Chapel Road and proceed the short distance to where the road jogs right. There is good parking on the left at this first bend.

Hike east along a fence line, staying north of the fence, with the large tower to the left, ahead of you. Climb over a sturdy section of fence and continue up to the ridge. At the top, I looked right and left and the left area, near the tower, is definitely higher. Walk left (north) through open woods to the tower. The highest part seems outside the fence, but the fence gate was open and allowed exploration.

It was a cold, blustery day when I was there so I quickly returned to the car with a total walking time of 20 minutes.
