Columbiana County Highpoint Trip Report
Round Knob (1,446 ft)

This one can be tricky to approach. For simplicity, from OH 11, take the exit marked for
"US 30 West To OH 45." Go a short distance west on US 30, then turn left (south) onto OH 45 and
go 3.2 miles to a sharp left unto the unsigned Hammond School Road.
See the large sign for the East Liverpool Beagle Club.
Go 0.7 mile northeast on Hammond School Road, passing the Beagle Club, to a gravel road on the right leading
to the fenced-in preserve that contains Round Knob.
Just past the gravel road is the trailer described by Hans Haustein. Unfortunately, the preserve has changed
hands and the gentleman who lives in the trailer no longer has the key. He reported that the property is now
owned by a steel company which uses it as a corporate recreation and hunting area.
With permission, the gravel road can be followed to a point several hundred feet beyond the crest,
from which an ATV path climbs steeply to the BM and the summit just beyond.
