Lorain County Highpoint Trip Report

I did this a lot differently than Mike Schwartz did.
Parked in the driveway to nowhere as Mike did.
Walked east over area #4 and KEPT GOING. Once in the woods I saw that the county line was marked in
4 ways. ATV tracks follow it as close as possible, posted signs, orange blazes and, most importantly,
old wire mesh fence sometimes matted into the undergrowth, a few heavily rusted metal stakes here and there.
This took me past small dammed pond to the north and over to area #5.
ATV tracks, signs and blazes stopped, but the wire mesh kept going. This took me over to area #6 and
beyond to the larger dammed pond Mike mentions. No north-south bushwhacks necessary.
Back to my truck I hiked west along a hedgerow and the county line to area #3 and KEPT GOING. It was
not too hard to figure out where the county line was going as field-woods interfaces.
I also found short sections of that fence.
Got to areas # 2 and #1 and kept going, coming out right at the county line post on Clark Road.
Walked roads back to my truck.
