Pushmataha County High Point Trip Report
Kiamichi Mtn & Holly Mtn (1,960+ ft)
Date: February 7, 2003
Author: David Olson
The access road, the K(iamichi) Trail, is definitely 4WD. Access this from the Talihina/Honobia road that
runs straight south of Talihina, at the crest of the ridge. The south(-east) Kiamichi HP area is easy,
located in open brush. The north(-west) Kiamichi HP area is also easy, located in woods. Along the way we passed
a few interesting rocks on the south facing slope.
Then we drove east to a saddle, about 1840 ft, northwest of Holly Mountain, hiked down 400 feet,
crossed the creek, then 400+ ft up to the top of Holly Mountain.
There is a line of 5-foot high rocks at the west end of the summit that are highest.
There are good views of Latimer coHP, Buffalo Mountain, from the Kiamichi Trail.
