Benton County High Point Trip Report
Mary's Peak
Date: May 29, 2002
Author: Mike Coltrin
Mary's Peak stands out very distinctly from the background coastal mountains west of Corvallis. This is a
pretty simple peak. A road winds up the mountain to within a half-mile of the summit. It is in a Forest Park
and an entrance fee of five dollars is required.
Self-pay stations were at the entrance to the park and at the trailhead.
Just as my truck came into view on my return, around the corner came a small green truck.
A uniformed woman parked near my truck and got out. She went to the back of her truck and got out a pail,
mop and rubber gloves and walked over to the outhouse. I hurried down to my vehicle and left.
