Mt McLoughlin (9,495 ft)

A typical lower-elevation Cascade volcanic cone, and a popular local hike.
The trailhead is north of state route 140 between Medford and Klamath Falls.
From a bit east of Fish Lake, take forest route 3650 northeasterly, and
watch for signs to the Mt. McLoughlin trailhead.
From the trailhead, hike the well-marked trail through trees. Above
timberline, the route is indicated with paint blotches on the rocks. Gain
is about 4000' in a round trip of almost 10 miles.
