Tower Mtn (6,850 ft)

An eight-flight lookout tower gives this one its name. From the base, there is a limited view through the trees, but from the tower views are extensive.

This one is a drive-up, unless you want to climb the tower. From Ukiah, head south on county route 1475, which turns east and becomes forest route 52 in the national forest. About a mile past the Winom Creek campground (over 20 miles from Ukiah), take a left on forest route 5226. This will take you to Tower Mountain in about 7 miles; despite showing on the Umatilla NF map as a primitive road for most of its length we found it driveable in a Mazda 626.
