Date: March 4, 2000
Author: Michael Schwartz
From PA Rtes. 381/711 in Champion turn at the sign for Seven Springs Ski Resort. Follow this road to the
Fayette/Somerset County line (note: the turn off for the Westmorland County high point is 0.1 miles past
the county line) and continue downhill for another 2.9 miles to a sharp right turn onto Triple Creek Acres
Road, just before a church. Zero odometer. Go 1.2 miles to a right turn onto Pritts Distillery Road/T545,
just past a bridge. Take this dirt road to a crest at 3.4 miles. Turn right between two boulders topped by
"private road" signs. Bear left after the pillars and bear left again when you come to a steep reservoir berm.
Reach parking lot at 3.8 miles.
This area is at the top of a ski lift, and a clump of boulders, which may not
be natural, marks the highest point. The "private road" is not shown on the topo. On the return, bear right
at a fork reached before the two boulders.
