Again, avoid hunting season.
Using a GPS unit, it would probably be a good idea to take 2 way points en route: where you leave the dirt
road to begin your bushwhack and where you come up onto the ridge after a short, steep climb.
From where I got onto the ridge, it was a bushwhack of almost a half mile each way to the prominent rocky knob
mentioned by Mike. The cairn, made of the local conglomerate, was still there.
It took me 2 hours, compared to Mike's 1:30, for the round trip but then, I'm older than he is :-)
My bushwhack along the ridge line was made more enjoyable by my first-ever sighting of a Canada warbler.
