Lehigh County Highpoint Trip Report

Old Dresher Road is now graded and gravel for about a mile or so past where the
gate used to be located and is easily driven in just about any vehicle.
I followed the blue trail to the AT and took a right and followed it for
0.25 mile as per previous reports before setting out for the rocky ridge.
I topped- out at the old cabin which is next to a pallet covered in carpet(?).
The last 50 feet to the ridge is rocky but it would be difficult to make the
climb Class 3. It's maybe a 2+ but was easy even while wet.
Resist the temptation to strike out directly downhill from the summit to the
blue trail to avoid the AT. It may save 5 minutes but the thorns will turn you
into hamburger. As this HP is 15 feet higher than the other candidate, I didn't
bother with the lower one. I'll probably go back later and knock it off as I
section-hike the AT through the area.
