Montgomery County Highpoint Trip Report
Date: March 26, 2005
Authors: Trapper Robbins and Roxanne Everett
From the parking area in Mike Schwartz's report, we found a small but good path
leading steeply up to a hunting platform (up in tree). The ridge is about 50 yards
beyond and the highest point seems to be left (west) on ridge.
Hike statistics: 0.5 mile, about 240 feet of elevation gain round trip.
We also investigated (but did not follow) the power line shown west of the
summit on the topo map. From the top, a path continues west for 0.1 mile to the
grassy power line cut (with lawn chairs around a fire pit). At the bottom of
this power line on Mill Hill Road, there is an unsigned gate and poor parking.
We couldn't tell if the power line route provides good walking or not.
