Snyder County Highpoint Trip Report
Date: January 24, 2007

The Snyder County directions from previous reports were right on. We drove east
of PA 235 along the Shade Mountain Road for 1.4 miles and parked at the small
pull-off area for the Diamond Trail. A short stroll up the ridge to the north
of the road brought us to the laurel flat area in where the high point lies.
We wandered around a bit trying to ascertain the high ground but, with the thick
laurel and snowy vegetation, things proved challenging. My Garmin GPSMAP 60Cx
loaded with Topo USA indicated we were inside of the highest contour so I felt
that we had accomplished our goal.
From the parking area to the high point it is about a 0.3 mile walk.
