Somerset County High Point Trip Report
Mt Davis (3,213 ft)
Date: June 24, 2000
Author: Ron Tagliapietra
This was my second visit to the highpoint area in Forbes State Forest (first visited August 2, 1989).
However, on my first visit I don't think I tagged the benchmark. The benchmark is on a large boulder a few
yards west of an observation tower. You will not find the benchmark, unless you climb on top of it.
In Meyersdale on US 216, go west on Broadway. Turn right after crossing the Casselman River onto SSR 2004.
Go left on South Wolf Rock Road about 10 miles from Meyersdale. Drive this road 2/3 of a mile to
Mt. Davis Road, which goes about a quarter mile to a parking area.
The observation tower is in sight.
