Warren County High Point Trip Report

1 1/4 miles NNE of Clendening Corners (2,231 ft)

From US 62, about two miles south of the state line, go east at "Old US 62 Akely" sign. In Akely go straight through crossroads onto Cable Hollow Road at 0.3 miles. Turn left at T-intersection at 5.4 miles onto Robin Hill Road. This point is "Clendening Corners" shown on topo. Go right at 6.6 miles onto dirt road with homemade wooden sign, "Smith." Private property is at the crest. I drove past the houses to a locked gate at 7.1 miles and parked. I then walked back up the hill and cut between two cabins to the high ground, which is very close to a trailer/cabin hybrid structure. The houses look like weekend retreats, at which time access could be a problem. The high ground is very near the road.
