From US 278 at Barnwell, go west on hwy. 64. As you approach Snelling watch
for a sign pointing left to Millet on Patterson Mill Rd. Follow this several miles
until you reach the Allendale county line. Take the first paved road on the right
(Moody Rd.) and drive 2.1 miles (passing Rolling Hills Rd. at 1.6 mi.) to the stop
sign at Millet Road. This intersection is a good landmark because Moody Rd. ends,
and Millet road makes a very sharp left (and right is not paved). [Crucial landmark
because I had not photocopied enough of the vicinity to get Patterson Mill Road,
and it took us a long time to figure out where to go.] At any rate, you drove
over the HP within 100 yards before reaching this sign. The HP area is a sizable
contour, but as we wandered around between the rows of pines on both sides of the
road, we found nothing higher than the road (its all very flat).
