Sumter County High Point Trip Report

This one is a liner but not far from the last Lee County spot [see report]. Continue a little over a mile
from Lee HP #5 and turn right; drive about 1.5 miles to the end of the pavement on Log Cabin Road (just
beyond a paved junction on the right). The sign at the pavement end says "end of state maintenance" and
marks the county line. A house with a grassy yard is on the near side (Lee Co.) and a planted field on the
Sumter side. Thus, the boundary is pretty well defined. We walked along the line until it seemed to go
down. No signs, no fences, no postings, no problem. (If you drive south, the pavement resumes after less
than a quarter mile and then continues to SC 43; a left will take you back to the junction with 441
discussed under Lee Co. and you can continue straight across this intersection to return to Red Lane Road
and Dalzell).
