Claiborne County High Point Trip Report

We followed Ken Oeser's trip report to his grassy bald at 10.8 miles. On our way up this last hill the car
bottomed out, and after that disturbing noises came from the underside. We thought it best to turn back at
this point so that if repairs or a tow were necessary, we would have some of Saturday afternoon left to make
those arrangements. (The problem turned out to be very minor.) This road is quite rough, and we wouldn't
have taken the car past this point anyway. A 4WD high-clearance vehicle could probably make it all the way,
as Ken suggests in his report.
