Rhea County High Point Trip Report

I stopped and talked to the lady who lives in the first house on the left at the Rhea highpoint (see Ken Oeser's report). She said that the field belongs to her son and he didn't really like having people messing around on his property but she said that it was OK for me to go out to the fence. The fence is definitely the County Line. She said that there was a big law suit several years ago over the location of the County Line and the fence was determined to be the County Line. She said that she use to live in Rhea County but since the law suit she lives in Bledsoe County. The Burke Road route is probably the best route to the high point because it involves the least amount of hiking on private property. The property on the Rhea County side of the fence appears to be owned by someone else.
