Carson County High Point Trip Report

Within an hour after arriving at Amarillo's airport, I had bagged a highpoint, the trivially easy Carson highpoint located at the junctions of FM-683 and FM-293. This junction is inside a 3,595-foot contour that encompasses about 20 acres, located northwest of the Pantex facility. My route took me from Amarillo east along US-60 to FM-683 on my left, and from here to the highpoint area. I walked a bit and stepped on a few areas that looked higher but it's not easy to discern one point above all the others.
