on Estelline NW quadrangle
Driving: From US 287 and TX 356 in Memphis, TX, zero odometer.
0.0 US 287 and TX 356 - go East on 256
6.7 Childress County line - go straight
8.0 Salt Creek Ranch gated field road on left (north) -
owner's ranch house is to the right (south).
Hiking: With permission, hike about 1 mile north on the field road.
It goes north, then east, north, northeast and north. Leave the road in a saddle and go
northwest 0.1 mile to the first 2 small areas in an odd shaped contour.
Roam a bit to get both points. Hike east to intersect the field road and continue north.
The road continues in 0.2 mile into two more 2060+ foot areas with a
third just north of the dip between them. Total gain from the car is just over
100 feet in 2.2 round-trip miles. It's open rangeland. Don't disturb the Angus.
